Gobi Khavtsgait Tour 5 days/4 nights

Day 1: Arrive in Dalanzadgad City, Travel to Eagle Valley (Yoliin Am)

Arrive at Dalanzadgad Airport, where our driver will pick you up for the 1-hour drive to Yolyn Am (Vulture Valley), located in the Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park, a protected area since 2000. Yolyn Am is known for its thick ice that lasts almost year-round, except during August and September. Enjoy a hike through the valley and explore the stunning surroundings of the national park.

After your hike, visit the small nature museum at the entrance to Yolyn Am. The museum features a collection of dinosaur eggs, bones, stuffed birds, and a snow leopard—definitely worth a stop.

Return to the lodge by lunchtime for a relaxing afternoon and overnight stay at Gobi Mirage Lodge.

Day 2: Khongoryn Els and Bactrian Camel Riding

After breakfast, travel to Khongoryn Els Sand Dunes, located 160 km (3-4 hours drive) from Gobi Mirage Lodge. Here, you will have the opportunity to visit a local camel-breeding family to experience the nomadic lifestyle and try camel riding. Enjoy lunch at a camp located near the Singing Dune. After lunch, climb the Singing Dune and then return to the camp located near the Singing Dune for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Flaming Cliffs and Sunset Viewing

After breakfast, drive back to Gobi Mirage Lodge (3-4 hours drive). After lunch, relax at the lodge and enjoy Mongolian traditional games. In the late afternoon, drive (1-hour drive) to the Flaming Cliffs to witness a stunning sunset. Return to the lodge for an overnight stay. (In the evening, we can enjoy stargazing.

Day 4: Khavtsgait Petroglyphs

After breakfast, Drive (1hr) to Khavtsgait petroglyphs, dating back to between 8000 BC and 3000 BC. From the parking area trailhead, a rocky path ascends 120 meters in elevation (1822m) as it winds up a ridge littered with art.

In under an hour, you’ll encounter numerous petroglyphs. Return to the lodge by lunchtime and stay overnight at Gobi Mirage Lodge

Check out and drive to Dalanzadgad Airport for your flight back to Ulaanbaatar.
